OnLine Intensive


Yoga has become a mainstream household word. It's estimated that 28.75 million people age 6 and up stepped onto their yoga mats in 2018. Once, a practice used only by hippies, and "the turn on, tune in, drop out" culture of the late 60s and early 70s. Today Yoga has been used for fitness, physical therapy, flexibility, medicine, meditation, and healing, thousands of people have discovered that yoga is more than just something you do for an h​our once or twice a week. yoga is not a workout, a culture or a lifestyle. Yoga is life, yoga is living, yoga is everything. The word Yoga comes from a Sanskrit word "yug" pronounced yujj the word very simply means union, it means to connect, to combine, to make whole, contextually speaking, you can yoga a truck and a trailor, you can yoga the ingredients to make soup, you can yoga two people in marriage. Yoga is a tool to reunite us with that which we have lost. The true power of yoga is eternal, the path hasn't changed for thousands of years, the scenery has changed but the path re​mains the same, the goal is still moksha (liberation) from samsara (the cycle of suffering) and the union of yoga isn't the union of mind, body, and spirit, but the union of the atman (the true self/the soul/consciousness) and the paramatman (supreme consciousness/GOD/the creator.)

This course is intended to provide students with a deeper understanding of yoga, what yoga is, what the many practices that we call yoga are. We begin with the history and evolution of yoga, we will look at how yoga has progressed out of India and honor the gurus that brought it to the west, effectively changing the world, learn how to live long healthy lives through ayurveda, we will look at the Vedas and Upanishads, meet Ram, Sita and Hanuman in the Ramayana, find Krishna in the Mahabharata, hear the secrets told to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita and we will chant mantras to clean the dust from our hearts and fuel the fire of transformation.

In addition to the Monday and Friday lectures Participants will also have the option of joining me live online for my morning practice. Puja, intention setting, meditation, pranayama, and asana.

Time will depend on the availability of participants.

Yoga Sutras and closing discourse

  • All classes will be held online via ZOOM from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Mondays and Fridays. 
  • Participants will receive an email with the meeting link on the day of the scheduled class.
  • Print materials will be emailed in PDF format with the meeting link.
  • Video replays will be available to those that are unable to attend at the scheduled class time.

This is not a "video course" all classes will be live classes so you can participate and ask questions as we go.

Yoga is vast, yoga is deep, Yoga is chitakash (pure unending consciousness) and so are you! I have been practicing yoga for over twenty years and in that time I've been fortunate enough to learn from and study with some truly amazing souls. Yoga does what it does because that's the nature of yoga, regardless of the style, or method, or location the practices we call yoga are intended to foster greater self awareness, to give us a transcendental mirror to see past the skin suit we put on when we come here and catch a glimpse of our true self. The beings that walked the path before us called Rishis left a library of texts, stories, and practices, containing a wealth of information and guidance, sort of an operators manual of how to use our time here in the best way possible so we can do what we came to do and go home. I have put together this series of classes to provide you with an understanding of what these texts are so you can use them as a foundation, as a reference and source of inspiration on your journey. When life becomes challenging when I'm struggling I turn to the Bhagavad Gita for motivation and it never fails to lift me up and carry me forward even in darkest times. I hope you'll join me and allow it to do the same for you.
